     ~Fridays - by appointment only
Anyone who has an appointment should run the doorbell which is beside the parking lot door & staff will be with them shortly.

A NEW DROP-IN GROUP  has begun at our NEWEST service location.  A weekly Women's Drop-in will now be held each Tuesday from 1-3pm in the little house at 352 Rossland Ave (beside Star Grocery).  All women welcome.  There will be coffee, snacks, and good conversation.

The next  Nobody's Perfect FREE series of groups will begin in the fall at the FAIR Main office building.  The groups are offered 5:00 to 7:00pm for 6 Thursdays and supper and childcare are provided free.  Meet with other parents of young children (birth to age 5), share questions, learn about child development, and work together with the support of two trained facilitators to discover positive ways of parenting.  Space is limited, so call early to ensure your spot !

The CCRR has some exciting workshops and training scheduled this fall.  All workshops are FREE, and will be held at the FAIR Society building, unless otherwise noted.  Call the CCRR for more info.  These workshops fill up fast, so you MUST pre-register with the CCRR at least one week prior.

The CCRR Playgroup is FREE, fun, friendly drop-in play and socialization opportunity for all parents, caregivers and children. Age appropriate toys, activities, and snack are provided. Playgroup will run most Monday mornings from 9:30 to 11am in the former Trail Middle School, approximately following the school year. No pre-registration is required. .

The popular CORE program is now accepting registrations for the term which begins in September 2010.  This is a fantastic FREE preschool\parent education program for both the parents and children which fills up fast. Groups are held in the former Trail Middle School building, approximately following the school year calendar. Families may enrol in either the 9-11am or 1-3pm groups on Wednesdays, and pre-registration is essential.   Call early to avoid disappointment!

The CCRR is thrilled to be collaborating with School District #20 in offering the Strong Start Program at Fruitvale Elementary School.  The program offers a free drop-in program for parents or caregivers and their children under 5. Qualified early childhood educator staff from the CCRR lead literacy activities, including stories, music and crafts to help children grow linguistically, physically and socially, and become comfortable in a school-like environment. This program runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to noon, and Wednesdays 11:30am to 2:30pm, during the school year (except standard School holidays).  Contact Us for more info.

The WINS Transition House is offering to present the "In Her Shoes" workshop to interested groups.  This 2-hour interactive, educational workshop will help participants understand, in a very compressed period of time, something of the experience of an abused woman and of how our response might support or hinder her efforts to be safe.  Suitable for professional organizations, students, service clubs...just about anyone. Call the Transition House for more info.

The Crisis Line is taking names for an interest list for their next 3 day Crisis Line training to be held soon.  This valuable training is offered 2-3 times per year to those interested in volunteering on the Kootenay Boundary Regional Crisis Line, and also may be available to the general public as space permits. An application form may be picked up at the FAIR main office on Columbia Ave. For more info, please Contact the Crisis Line Volunteer Co-coordinator.

Building Beautiful Babies (Pregnancy Outreach) Groups are held in the former Trail Middle School building from 10am to 2pm on most Thursdays during the school year.  Use the front door & take the hallway on the left to the very end to room 213.  These groups are drop-in, so no registration is necessary.  Pregnant women, new mothers and their families are welcome. Groups will not run on standard school holidays, and will meet at Gyro Park (near the gazebo) during the summer months. The upcoming schedule is:
June 17 - Jennifer Moll - Speech Therapist
June 24 - Last group at TMS before moving to Gyro Park for the summer

We've Moved!  As of July 1, 2006, the address for our Administration office and many of our programs is 2079 Columbia Ave in East Trail.  This bright, two story building is just two blocks east of the Aquatic Center, overlooks the Columbia River, and has lots of free parking!  Some may remember this building as the old School District Office building.  Check out our Contact Us page for location details, and a listing of which programs have moved.
